is a family owned hotel offering secluded, self-contained cabin accommodation near Cradle Mountain Lake St Clair National Park.

Getting TO THE CRADLE HIGHLANDER

Cradle Highlander is located on Cradle Mountain Road, at the northern entrance to Cradle Mountain Lake St Clair National Park, just 200 metres from the Visitor Centre and shuttle bus terminal.

To find us, follow the signs to the Cradle Mountain National Park Visitor Centre, continue along Cradle Mountain Road for 200 metres past the Visitor Centre and keep a look out on your right for our hand-carved “Highlanders Cottages” sign. Our private and secluded cabins can’t be seen from the road.

  • From Devonport via Sheffield (1.25 hours)

  • From Burnie via B18 & C132 highways (1.5 hours)

  • From Launceston via A1 (Bass Highway) and Sheffield (2.0 hours)

  • From Launceston via A1 highway & Mole Creek (2.5 hours)

  • From Hobart via A1 (Midlands Highway) & Sheffield (4.5 hours)

  • From Hobart via Queenstown (6.0 hours)

With a background in Base jumping, snowboarding, sky diving, wakeboarding, surfing, and generally loving the outdoors, the addition of exploring the hiking trails is a huge bonus to our newly acquired business of Wild Island Adventures.
