The four of us come from Brisbane hoping to see snow. As we drive into reception it was actually snowing - how unreal? Great abins, plenty of wildlife and most enjoyable stay. The best yet!!!!

This was my son and I, last stay in Tassie. The best surely was last. This place truely is special. Cradle Mountain will be a lasting memory as will the Woodsmoke Cottage. I hope I can bring my wife back here just the two of us, and psend more time walking this beautiful country. Thanks

Had a lovely stay. Rain fell, fire crackled cheerily, cabin cosy and warm, Staff friendly and helpful. What a wonderful part of Tasmania this is. Animals visited nightly to keep a check on us. How nice to be in one of the smaller more sensitive developments at Cradle. May thanks

Relaxation is what we were after and relaxation is what we got! Yesterday was sunny so we did the drive up to Dove Lake. Beautiful! We patted a Tasmanian devil at devils@cradle and learned so much from Paul, our tour guide. Aflter leaving there, a big fat wombat waddled across the road. A pademelon greeted us upon our return to WOMBAT cabin. We're leaving in rain, but who cares!

This little cabin so cosy and neat
In a holiday spot whats hard to beat
Had a warm fire and a comfortable bed
Where even the pillows were great for our head
Our breakfast arrived without any fuss
All that food was it just for us?
The cupboards supplied with all one could need
The bush round the cabin was mossy and treed
Our family and friends at home will soon know
That highlanders is the place to go
Now that we are about to depart
We thank all the staff from the bottom of our heart

This has been our 6th year at Highlander cottages and our first year anniversary! Once again, the majestic mountain and wonderufl, warm, cosy & welcoming cottages did not disappoint. We have thoroughly enjoyed our stay, loved the cottage and this year we were fortunate enough to see the mountain (& surrounds) covered in snow. Very exciting!! We were engaged and married here @ cradle mountain and we will be back every year to celebrate our anniversary. Thank you very much!

Staying here on our first night in Tasmania is possibly a bit unfair to the rest of our trip[s accommodation. How do you beat perfect? We will return

What a wonderful place to stay! Went in June of 2008, and wished we were still there! The Bushman's cabin is fantastic for two... perfect, in fact. Warm, Cosy and practical... Will be back.... AGAIN!

Stayed in Bushmans Hut
We stayed in Bushmans Hut in February 2009 and thought it one of the nicest places we had stayed in while in Tasmania. Cute and compact but with everything we needed. The cabins were nicely scattered in the bush so that you weren't in a row, lots of animals were around at night as we'd hoped and the breakfast basket was great.

Night time visits from wombats and possums
Day time walks amid apline blossoms
Mountains and lakes, Flora and fauna
breathtaking views round every corner
It may rain, the wind might blow
The sun will shine, it could even snow
Whatever the weather, when you're newar Dove Lake
Make sure you look out for a black tigert snake
Here, tiger snakes are black as night
To us this simply isn't right
A tiger's stipey as can be
Can you explain this mystery?
Wombats muching at Ronny Creek
Under the boardwalk playing hide and seek
And at the day with tired feet
It's heaven to return to this rustic retreat!
