It has been great, the last 2 evenings here after a hard day's walking & our helicopter flight on Wednesday 18th best day. This place is a credit to you and to tourism in Tassie. Your cottage is spotless, cosy and we loved the bed, spa and brekky hamper. We felt we were in the wilderness & the view of Cradle Mountain is excellent. We will recommend this to our friends. We also had the fire going in summer! Thank you, we will be back. The snow season sounds good!

We enjoyed the peace and seclusionof this cabin. Pademelon is well equipped and smells delightfully of sawn timber. As we come from tropical Queensland we appreciated the woodfire and the excellent fire lighting facilities and wood supply.

The cabin met everyone's expectations and more. The seclusion is what we all wanted. The generous servings in the breakfast pack is much appreciated. The weather was absolutely glorious and made the Dove Lake walk an absolute delight! (Hannah, Ryan and Lachlan may have a different view.). Glen has gone crazy snapping photos but it is easy to see why. On the wildlife front - A wombat greeted us as we parked the car. this was a sign of things to come. The possums certainly make themselves at thome. All the wildlife was great! A great way to finish our Tassie adventure. thanks for the memories!! the McClue Family - Jenny, Glen, Hannah, Ryan and Lachlan

O'Brien family - all six- stayed and had a great time - weather was almost too perfect- 32 degrees when we started our walk to Marions Lookout- were glad of the cloud cover and the welcome breeze- trip back down the face to Dove Lake enjoyed by all our girls as a challenge. We cooled our feet off at the boat shed - no wonder - temperature back at the car in the car park said 38 degrees - wow - too hot to be walking! Wildlife was great- our night time spotlight trip in the car resulted in one tassie devil, two psycho quolls, ten wombats plus many assorted wallabies and pademelons. Fat Percy the resident possum was not seen but had left a deposit on the doorstep - girls not impressed! Noisy currawongs were our alarm clocks for our great breakfast. All in all - who wouldn't want to come back and do it all again - so much more to see yet!

I liked this place, the pademelons, wombat and the evil black bird who stole our sausages.

Woke to a cool rainy morning and saw an elephant, a panda and a giraffe. There is a possibility this was due to some wonderful 2001 Pipers River Champagne followed by a Sauvignon Blanc night cap?? New Years Eve was a cosy, comfortable evening in front of the fire surrounded by the best food and wine Tasmania can offer. Beware of the black crow and don't turn your back on the BBQ.

Authentic bush cabin accommodation, very comfortable. Well done - the most enjoyable since the old Pencil Pine Lodge! Wildlife +++. Bad luck with weather, hope for better next time!

Perfect! I brought my girl and spoilt her in this beautiful cosy place. Then popped the question and she said YES. The weather was variable but the tranquility and quietness was just what we needed. Great hospitality and hope we can make it back some time.

Tuesday 22 November: First time to Cradle Mountain. Absolutely awesome views, great food at the pub down the road!! Saw some wildlife that was fascinating, esp the wombats. - Here for another 2 days, we will aim to trek some bush tracks and walk off our healthy eating. Definately in my diary for a re-visit. Thursday 24 November: Well.... today the half the group (there are 5 of us, so that's 3) went to Tullah (Not much there) - saw Macintosh Dam which was an amazing sight. Headed to Roseberry and had some lunch at the main township bakery- yum! Due to our conquering of Cradle Mountain, and the fact that I saw a picture on the Bakery wall, "for sale" of Cradle Mountain; Dove Lake and the Boatshed, I thought "yes" - for $70, and I was supporting the local community. I will find a place on my wall at home for this as the trip has sentimental value. In fact it has been a great getaway from Melbourne. I am extremely sore from yesterday's climb of Cradle Mountain. So adios from me. " That's it".
