2017 Trivago Top Rated Hotel Award

We are delighted that Cradle Mountain Highlanders is the highest-rated accommodation in Northern Tasmania in the Trivago Awards 2017.  We are also rated 3rd in Tasmania.

The Trivago Awards are based on 175 million traveller ratings from over 250 online booking sites. Trivago.com.au has analysed accommodation in Australia with 300 reviews or more to define the top-rated across the country.

The Trivago Award, to our business, is a recognition to our team at Highlanders for the passion and hard work that goes into providing a top-rated service and product to our guests.

Online reviews are very important to us, and we love that so many of our guests take the time to write in our guest books and also review us online. But we are also very proud that a lot of our business comes from our valued returning guests and through word of mouth. Because of this, our occupancy continues to grow.

All of the accommodation businesses at Cradle Mountain offer different accommodation types. Guests are drawn to Highlanders for the rustic, wooden cabins. Each one is tucked away in the bush so that their occupants feel that they are here by themselves. They can cook their own meals in their self-contained kitchens while sitting in front of their wood or gas log fire. If staying for more than one night, they can leave their car at their cabin, walk 250 metres to the Visitors Centre, and catch the free shuttle bus service into the National Park.

Visitors to Cradle Mountain are increasing and it is up to all of us in the region to showcase the area and give visitors the best possible experience while they are here.

Visitors, both local, national, and international, are drawn to the Cradle Mountain area for its natural beauty. Cradle Mountain is a magnificent asset to this state, and our guests are so impressed with the presentation of the park, network of walking tracks to amazing views, diverse landscapes, and incredible flora and fauna.

North West Tasmania features highly in the Top Destination and Top-Rated Hotel categories, and we congratulate all the operators in the region for offering such a great destination for travellers.

We have received great reviews on our accommodation by our guests via TripAdvisor’s site. Five consecutive years of a Certificate of Excellence Award have brought us a 2015 ‘Hall of Fame’ Award. We are very proud to see Cradle Mountain Highlanders recognised by our guests as one of the very best in the accommodation business. We thank all the guests who have posted their feedback on our TripAdvisor page, and all our staff who have made our business a bench mark in the Tasmanian tourism industry. Also a huge thanks goes to Ian and Sharon who managed the business until lately. There is no doubt that Brad, Lisa and Brendan at the front end, supported by our professional housekeeping team (Carrol, Candi, Jodi, Fiona and Greg) at the back end, will continue on our tradition of excellent customer service.

Cradle Mountain Highlanders has been included in the 17th edition of the Lonely Planet Australia guidebook. We are very proud to be listed as the only must-visit accommodation at Cradle Valley by reputable Lonely Planet authors.

Finalist for People's Choice Annual Award 2012

Highlander Cottages were nominated as finalists for the People's Choice Annual Award 2012. Kim and Kate attended the Tasmanian Tourism Award Gala Dinner on 9 November 2012. Although we did not win the award, we were very pleased to attend this function again. We are very proud that we have been one of the top 10 Tasmanian accommodation businesses for the past 4 years (2009 - 2012 inclusive). We appreciate all the support from our team and the guests.
